Home-style Chicken Soup Mix
4 Servings

1/3 cup chicken bouillon granules
1/4 cup dried minced onion
1/2 cup shell macaroni pasta, uncooked
2/3 cup pearled barley, uncooked
1/2 cup spinach pasta, uncooked and broken into small pieces
1/3 cup long cooking long grain rice, uncooked
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon dried oregano

In a one quart wide mouth jar, layer bouillon, onion, macaroni, barley, spinach pasta and rice.

 Combine remaining ingredients in a small plastic bag and place on top of layers. Seal lid and attach instructions.
 Instructions: Pour all jar contents into a large pot filled with 12 cups water. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer for 45 minutes. Add one cup cooked cubed chicken; simmer 15 minutes.

Tortilla Soup Mix In A Jar
Makes 3 Qts

2 tablespoons chicken bouillon granules
1 teaspoon lemon pepper
1 teaspoon dried cilantro
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon cumin
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup dried minced onion
1 cup long grain rice, uncooked
1 1/2 cup tortilla chips, coarsely crushed
1 can (5 ounce size) chicken
1 can (10 ounce size) diced tomatoes with chilies

Combine the first 8 ingredients in a plastic zipping bag; set aside. Layer rice in a wide mouth one quart jar; pack seasoning bag on top. Fill remaining jar with crushed tortilla chips, packing gently; secure lid.

Tape can of chicken to the top of the jar, if desired. Tie jar of mix to the can of diced tomatoes; attach instructions.

Instructions: "Place tortilla chips in a small bowl; set aside. Remove seasoning packet; set aside. Add rice to a stockpot; stir in 10 cups water. Mix in tomatoes with chilies and seasoning packet; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer for 20 minutes.

Add tortilla chips. cover and simmer 5 additional minutes. Spoon into bowls while hot."

Easy Creamy Potato Soup Mix
makes 10 cups


1/2 cup chicken bouillon granules
6 cups instant mashed potato flakes, packed
4 tablespoons dried minced onion
6 tablespoons dried chives
2 teaspoons white pepper
1/2 cup bacon bits
2 tablespoons dried parsley
1 tablespoon dill weed
1 teaspoon dried thyme
2 cups powdered milk
1/2 teaspoon paprika

 for making 1 serving of soup: Place 1/2 cup mix into a soup bowl. Add one cup boiling water. Stir until smooth and creamy.
